Board ship and overnight on board


Tuesday
Enjoy your first sunrise as we depart to Dendera to visit the temple of Hathor (optional visit) - This temple is one of the best preserved in Egypt and was a site for chapels and shrines from the beginning of Egyptian history. Following this we sail back to Luxor, Lunch on board, Afternoon free for leisure.

Wednesday
An early morning excursion to the Necropolis of Thebes better known as the West Bank of Luxor - Here we visit the Valley of the Kings and the tombs of the new kingdom pharaohs including Tutankhamen (separate ticket required) and Ramses the Great. On to the Temple of Deir El Bahari the mortuary temple of Queen Hatshepsut with its 3 terraces before a photo stop at the imposing Colossi of Memnon. After lunch we set sail for Esna and an afternoon free for leisure as we cross the lock.

Thursday
Morning sightseeing of Edfu and the extraordinary Temple of Horus. Following lunch the afternoon is free for leisure as we sail to Aswan

Friday
Early start for the optional excursion to Abu Simbel by air. Or visit the high dam an engineering miracle when it was built in the 1960s. On to the Unfinished Obelisk in its bedrock of pink granite and take a short boat trip to the Temple of Philae. Following lunch an afternoon felucca cruise along the Nile enjoying the views of the Aga Khan Mausoleum, Elephantine and Kitcheners Islands.


Saturday
Morning free for leisure before we set sail for Kom Ombo. We visit the Temple dedicated to the two gods Sobek and Haroeris, before sailing onto Esna.

Sunday
Sail to Luxor with the morning free for leisure. After lunch, we visit the East Bank temples of Karnak and Luxor. In the evening a possible optional excursion to the sound and light show at Karnak

Monday
Morning at leisure before disembarking boat after lunch
